NOTE: THE DATE OF THE CONVENTION HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
November 30, 2020
Attention Precinct Delegates:
Tonight we were supposed to have held our County Convention to elect the Kent GOP's next Executive Committee for 2021-2022. In an effort to allow participation for as many of our members as possible, we chose to go to a full virtual convention. However, due to technical difficulties, we were unable to hold this evening's convention. Some of you may have noticed an error message that would not allow you to join the call because 100 participants had joined.
With a standard Zoom license, meetings may accommodate up to 100 participants. Several weeks ago, in preparation for tonight's convention, we purchased a "large meeting" license which would accommodate up to 500 participants. Obviously, this was not the case this evening. We have contacted Zoom technical support and are working on resolving the issue.
During the convention this evening, after calling the meeting to order, a motion was passed to postpone the convention until Thursday, December 3rd at 6pm.
Our office takes full responsibility for this mistake. We understand that some of you scheduled your evening around the convention, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. You will be receiving an email and phone call in the upcoming days regarding the next steps we will be taking to ensure our convention is able to be held on Thursday.
Kent GOP Chairman
