Get Involved!

As a Precinct Delegate, you are your neighborhood's elected representative to the Republican Party. You will be a member of a grassroots organization of volunteers to aid the party in conducting campaigns at the local level. Delegates also influence and assist registered voters to vote for our candidates on election day. In this capacity, this organization of volunteers will be responsible for a variety of tasks and will be required to attend the county conventions which take place during their two-year term.

Thank you for volunteering to help the Kent County Republican Party! Please provide the information requested in the form below and click "Volunteer".

Immediately preceding primary and general elections, Get Out The Vote phone calls are made to inform voters of the Republican slate as well as remind them to visit the polls on election day. This approach has proven to be quite successful in capturing the Republican vote during close elections.

On election day, poll watchers are needed at polling locations to record the names of the registered Republican voters who have voted. This is an invaluable activity since phone calls will then be made to Republicans who have not yet voted.

During election cycles, the county is instrumental in local campaigns. To promote successful campaigns, we organize literature drops to inform voters of the candidates' stance on specific issues, and any other relative information. Literature drops involve dispersing candidate profiles in a door-to-door effort.

Another way to promote Republican candidates is to distribute yard signs. During sign blitzes, a group effort is made through a door-to-door approach to find persons willing to display Republican yard signs in front of their homes or businesses.

Annual Kent County Republican events are held to provide an avenue for Republicans to meet other Republicans. In addition, social events are a time for reflection on local, state and national political happenings. Volunteers are needed to work at the registration table, to take tickets at the door and to ensure the smooth running of the event.

During General election cycles, political rallies are hosted to introduce Republican candidates to the voters, to inspire unity among local Republicans and to recruit volunteers.

During election years the Kent County Republican Committee will employ an unpaid intern to work part time in the office. Although duties change constantly, an intern's responsibilities usually involve answering the telephones, inputting registered Republican voter information into the computer, assisting the staff with their needs and attending all executive committee meetings.
The Kent County Republican Committee's staff often needs assistance with mailings and other clerical activities. Volunteers are needed to stuff envelopes, stamp event tickets, make signs, etc.
